This is an Armi San Marco/Richland Arms Co. Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver with an 8" round barrel, 44 caliber. I don't know the proper nomenclature but it has the screws/studs and notch in the back strap for a butt stock. Trigger does not feel very heavy and it seems to break clean. The nipples came out with no problem, they were already pretty loose when I removed them. The left side picture you will see a mark just behind the end of the barrel and it is the only scratch / mark on the gun. On the frame above the serial number of 72xxx is the letters AL inside of a square box. I found the wedge does not want to go in 100% and if it does the cylinder will not turn. I don't know the history as it was part of a lot of 4 I guns I won in an auction. I did find it clean and the barrel looks great. Was no rust anywhere and the barrel has no pitting. Any questions please feel free to ask on the forum or pm me. Thanks for looking. Asking $225 plus $20 for shipping. Checks, cash or Paypal ( as friend ).

It's called a "4 screw frame", the 4th screw(s) being there for the shoulder stock to lock into. Colt's with this frame should have the notch in the bottom of the grip strap for the stock to latch onto, just like you describe.
