Hi all,
I've always wanted to learn more about blackpowder and muzzle loading firearms. This seems like the right place.
I grew up in the midwest, but knew the western mountains were my calling from an early age. I grew up in a family of city dwellers, but my dad knew i was different and bought me a muzzle loader (a CVA) for my 16th birthday. It failed on me (or more appropriately, i didn't know what i was doing) on a couple of hunts early on, and it has sat in the back of the closet for years while i have hunted with archery equipment.
Well, the fire was rekindled when i got drawn for a HAM (handgun, archery, muzzleloader) javelina tag this spring. I dug it out of the closet, in hopes i could kill something with blackpowder. I found this place while doing research on muzzleloading firearms.
We will see how it goes.
