Anyone catch the show on the History Channel last night concerning ancient weapons? They built and fired a replica of a steam cannon from 200+ B.C. that Archimedes (supposedly) built to defend against the Roman navy. The replica appeared to be equivalent to about a six-pounder. Puts muzzleloading cannon about 1,000 years prior to gunpowder!
