I have an 8 bore barrel on order from the gun works. was quoted a lead time of a year. they also list 4 and 8 bore sporting rifles on the tab that says custom guns. I would give them a call to see if they know a builder willing to take on your project.

Have an 8 bore? NO, thank goodness.
Why not , dear boy, brother used to shoot geese with his. No flint locks around but if you look on Holts auctioneers March auction norfolk uk. You will see under “Percussion long guns “ a number of 8 bores etc.

Below there’s a 6. Bore and another rifled. Take your pick. See holts

It has nothing to do with "testicles", I want an 8 bore because of the African hunting history tied to the caliber. An 8 bore rifle was by far the most common tool for hunting the "big 5" during the black powder era.

What I had in mind was a flint lock rifle with a 24" barrel and enough lead in the stock to bring it up to a proper weight.
There’s an 8 bore percussion double with shortened 24” for use as a punt gun. No photo yet. Seems to cost £700 for paperwork to get it to USA. See holts auctioneers March auction Norfolk uk. Interesting

Enjoy
