I have been looking at several different Kit Guns online on the more better quality side and am interested in a rifle kit by Sitting Fox Muzzleloaders. Has anyone built one of these rifle's and do like it ? Are they a good rifle for the money ? Thank's All

Yes, I was very satisfied with parts and Sitting Fox service

Here’s the deal … the parts are equal to those from Track of the Wolf or better. When I lost or should say, ‘misplaced’ one part, I got a replacement pipe (courtesy of Ray Franks @ Sitting Fox) drop shipped direct to me and it was from Larry from the Mold & Gun Shop.

KIT - But … if you buy a kit, you need to do some research (of the style/school) and know exactly what YOU want. For example, if you buy a Fusil de Chasse kit, the breech section of the barrel will be not tapered UNLESS you order a ‘premium’ barrel, of which there is an up charge.

BUILD - I cannot advise here, as Ray now farms the builds out to various builders, and the quality seems varied, at least from posts that have been on this Forum as of late.

ADVICE - Let’s do this … what specific musket or rifle are you looking to build???

Thanks for the advice, help's me a lot. I am just researching for now but plan on doing a kit, after I save my penny's. It may be awhile but I will get me a rifle. There's quite a few kits on Sitting Fox, kinda hard for me decide on one.

I bought a Sitting Fox Pennsylvania in .54 cal smoothbore. It was my third kit, the first two were Dixie. They have good quality parts, but the kit needs work, and you must have tools. Mine is iron mounted, single trigger, straight barrel, and I browned everything. It has been very reliable. Looking back, I would make sure the lock is inletted on any kit you buy, that was a big challenge.
