Not exactly what you're seeking, but in my longer BP barrels, say of 54" to 60", I do switch from 2Fg Schuetzen powdah (made by same company that makes Swiss) to 1Fg when using higher charge paper cartridge loads, i.e., above 90-grains. I get better combustion due to the longer barrel lengths, but - even better - I can load and shoot all day without wiping the bore! With 2Fg, I'd get a 'crud ring' down from the muzzle where already combusted and burnt up powdah was depositing inside the barrel.
For you, I don't think you'd see any benefit in a short(er) barrel.
Now the recoil impulse is somewhat less, as 1Fg is softer shooting ... akin to a 2Fg vs 3Fg load in say a 50-cal rifle, where the general testing/opinion is that the 3Fg same load would be 10% hotter. But I think your bore may foul too much in a short barrel, and be too inefficient (wasting powdah) to realize any benefit.
