I thought about sending a pound of 1F powder to a friend to try, anybody ever do this as a private citizen? How many hoops did you have to jump through?

A HAZMAT shipping certificate is required. Big hoop that requires training, etc.

It aint worth the effort.
You would have to know what you are doing. Packaging, marking, labeling, shipping papers, training etc.
I retired from the USDOT after 33 years of doing HM program enforcement.
I could do it and be legal. However, I seriously doubt that I would.
Also, please dont ship it as grandmas cookies. The penalties can be very high.

Send your Buddy the money and have him order it on line, Graphs, midway etc. Hazmat charge may be more than the cost of 1 pound of powder.
Thanks for the info, I was unsure. I did direct him to Graf's, they have powder in stock.

So, how does shipping powder differ from shipping unmentionable ammunition? Theres no problem shipping the latter by UPS. Just declare it and pay a hazmat charge, around $15 the last I’d heard.
Eric, you could buy the powder from Graf's and have it shipped directly to your friend.
