I see 1850ish, maybe Ohio or W Va, artificially striped wood. Really inexpensive for a real, rifle. Where would it be located?

I am amazed that rifles like this go begging at this price. These rifles' barrels can be sent to a number of gunsmiths/machinists like Ed Rayl on West Virginia and bored and re-rifled for under $200. Then, you have an original shooter!

Yes, it amazes me too.
I like antique guns because of their historical aspect.
I am amazed that people will pay twice this amount for a reproduction but let a
rifle like this go by.

Can you post a picture of the rear ramrod pipe, so I can see if it has a flange, or just a pipe that butts against the forestock. Thanks, Shelby Gallien

I was talking to a friend inletting his entry pipe on his current make - a job he hates! We talked about doing this to avoid the aggravation of entry pipe inletting!

For sale is a nice anitique rifle. Wood is good with no cracks or missing pieces. Metal is all good.

Rifle OAL is 57", Barrel is 42" long, 3/4" OD and 1/2" ID, full stock in good condition. Has a nice, slim stock. Name and date added.

RIFLE NUMBER 2 HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM THIS LISTING.
Is this still for sale?

The placard doesn’t always work. This is a rifle someone offered to sell me after I posted a want to buy ad. He pulled pics from the same forum from 2018 and rotated them and photoshopped his note in

What does this have to do with this thread?

Sorry if I'm a little dense.
Are you saying that this is a scam?
It's amazingly inexpensive.

EDIT: After a closer look at the photos, they are indeed 2 different rifles.
Need coffee...
