9 years in a row, my little .40 put em in my freezer. .390rb, 60gr Fffg Swiss.

This year a neck shot at maybe 20 foot.

Shot my buck in about the same spot with the same result. Seems to calm them right down. Nice looking rifle and buck,
 
That certainly is a beautiful rifle and you got yourself a major buck. I had a .40 but never took any game with it; I'm glad you did as it goes to show you don't need field piece to kill a deer.
