Thought I'd share this on the forum. This is a small, twist on, LED that can be used as an inexpensive bore light for 50cal and up. With a bit of filing, it might fit down a 45cal. I wouldn't just drop it down the bore since that's how my last one died prematurely. Just hold the barrel at a low angle, put the light in, and raise the barrel to let it slide to the breech. At this price, $10 for 24, I plan on keeping them in pretty much any container that I carry for black powder.

Gone are the days of the only borescope being a $1000 Hawkeye.
You can buy a Chinesium one that uses your smartphone for $35. For $150 you can get one with its own screen that’s better than the old Hawkeyes and it takes digital photos.
I have the Lyman one. I must admit, I don’t use it that much unless I’m buying a used gun, but for me it’s essential kit for used gun purchases.

You can get a $9 bore scope off eBay that works pretty good.

This $9 scope showed me that my cleaning procedure was substandard.

@Dave91 what is the diameter of those? IOW, what is the minimum bore diameter that they will fit?
So far, I've used them down through 50cal and the only thing I have smaller in caliber is an 1858 Remington revolver. It "may" fit in a 45cal but at this moment I wouldn't swear to it.
