Shot the Albanian miquelet I made....570 round ball, 38 grains 2f. Had to hold to the extreme right of the target.

The old flintlock had a few misfires. I think the frizzen insert is worn . I may make a new one. It just slides in to the frizzen proper, held in place by a groove on each side. My flint was sharp....
 
10 yards was my shooting distance. Except for the head shot. It was 1 yard!

Great going !! I don't think any of these smoothbore pistols are much good past about 15-20 yards. But that's likely all they were designed for.
Yes, sounds like your frizzen plate is worn down. I believe the Spanish incorporated the separate plate feature (?). Most are press fitted to the two groves of the frizzen, while others have an additional tiny screw.

Again, nice build. These flint pistols are fun to shoot.

Thank you. I consider myself lucky to have hit the target anywhere. After concentrating on getting the smallest group with rifled arms, sometimes it’s a nice change to just load and blast away...
