This powder horn came from my late freind and mentors estate. It’s an original that he meticulously restored. It’s not a huge horn and is extremely light weight. I remember looking at it several years back right after he purchased it, it didn’t need too much… the old base plug was still intact, however it had shrunk and had a large crack in it, all the brass tacks were still there and the horn body was nearly perfect. The spout plug was long gone. He replicated the base plug nearly perfect and reinstalled the original eye screw. It was then cleaned and waxed and a spout plug was fashioned. I wasn’t there through the whole process, but I was able to witness some of the restoration. I’m pretty happy to have this in my collection.
