I ordered Kibler’s Colonial flintlock about a week ago rifled in 50 cal. I want my build to be period correct. Should I have asked for the 58 cal smooth instead or something else off the list.
I figure I have time to alter my order as she will be a 2 to 3 month wait. Thoughts appreciated

I got a kibler in the white and actually made several changes. They were VERY easy to deal with especially early on. I would d i soon though. Yer gonna love it. I was too intimated at the thig to get to working on the finish but about over it and ready to stain n brown here soon. EXCELLENT choice. BTW my next will be 58 smooth

Excellent read, I recommend it to anyone who hasn’t read it. I am going to look for the documentary film as well. My wife and I went there when my girls were little. Loved it, we still talk about it, but I missed the gunsmith shop. I’m a poorer man for it, I will go back.
After reading your link, I think I might be OK as is.

You can find some of their videos on you tube, but I have to warn you they are addictive.

What ever you will actually shoot, use, and enjoy the most. I have a .36 SMR and .54 Colonial. I bought both already completed locally, and to be honest neither would have been my first choice of caliber. But, I absolutely love them and would not trade!

This will be my 4th build, I have built a Kentucky pistol (Traditions), a Pedersoli Kentucky long rifle, and for reasons I can’t explain a Pedersoli Bounty Hunter all in 50 cal so I just went with 50 for the Kibler as well
