A couple old target pistols I have competed with for many years.
First is an 1860 Colt Army, made in 1862. I had a trigger job done on it about 35 years ago by the gunsmith at The Log Cabin. An excellent shooter with plenty of space between the forcing cone and cylinder, but it shoots quite well.

The next one is a target pistol from the shop of I Adam Kuchenreuter in Regensburg (Bavaria). 45 caliber it is all original except the nipple. Single set trigger, rear sight adjustable for elevation with a watch key. Likely my favorite pistol.

Very nice! Thanks for posting!

The 1860 looks like a veteran, but there's still some fight left in him. As for the Kuchenreuter... I just don't think you can top old-time German craftsmanship. What a beauty!

Wow, that’s a purple of nice pistolas. I would love to see a close up of the rear sight and how the watch let fits to adjust it.

Here is a picture of the elevation adjustment on the rear sight. The front sight has pads on the base for tapping with a mallet to adjust windage. There are also witness marks on the front of the barrel and sight base. Posted a picture of the lock as the original photo I posted is of low quality.

You have excellent taste in handguns Uncle Miltie :thumb:
The ramp styled front sight on your Kuchenreuter is unique,
Due to the excellent workmanship & rifling specs in most original revolvers & European single shot pistols & rifles I also preferred them when shooting competition & hunting.
