Looking to get a first muzzleloader. Interested in shooting patch round ball.

Any .54 flintlock action with a barrel length of 27+" without any over-the-barrel style clamps would be up for consideration. 1-60+ twist and larger length barrels too. Fine/excellent condition preferred. As long as it shoots well and is lightly used, well cared for.

Previously bid on a TC Renegade with the faster 1-48 twist. May be controversial but the minimal brass style of that rifle is sweet. Nice case hardening. Low serial number? (64841) (Seems to be based on quick research, though their records burned up right) Double trigger, old style rear sight. Craftsmanship from the 50s-60s appears superior in other various firearms, not sure if that is the same for muzzle loaders. Bid went up to 1000$. Couldn't do it.

I would be open up to 2000$. Intended use is blind and stand hunting, with exquisite care and planning.

Wouldn't be opposed to getting two rifles, if the bore and how they shoot are both great.

May I suggest that you look at the Pedersoli Frontier in .54?
According to the website, Jedediah Starr Trading Company has them in stock. Now the online information is not correct. While the barrel IS 39", the twist for the .54 version from Pedersoli is a 1:65 twist, NOT 1:48. They are very good rifles, and I was going to get one myself this month, BUT I had to put four tires on my wife's SUV yesterday, so....
Contact JD Star to see if they have one for sale, as they are inaccurate in their description of the item they may be inaccurate on it being in stock as well.
