Now that is a very fine looking rifle!
For someone who wants a rifle that is a cut above, that is it.
That is a very fine representation of a late percussion era rifle, with a class touch of engraving, fine walnut stock.
It needs a fine powder horn, and a chestnut case.
My compliments! I can't say any more without repeating myself.

Good evening. Yes that is a beautiful rifle. I have been looking at some specs on the Pedersoli website. And that rifle appears to be available only in .45 caliber. if this is a .50 could it be an older version? Perhaps they made this gun in that caliber but no longer do? Were you first owner? Do yo have an idea how old the gun is?
thanks for any more informaiton....

I think a flask would be a little more fitting.

I have had the gun for over 10 years and got it from my father in law when he passed away. The .45 is more common as it had a faster twist for conical shooting. I have seen them in .50 and .54. the .50 &.54 are rare. How old the gun is I have no idea. It is a great shooter. A .495 ball and a .20 mink oil lubed patch will put balls into 1" at 50 yards all day off the bench.

As of the 2021 Pedersoli price list, these are the available Tyron models:

S.219TRYON TARGETPERCUSSION.45-.50-.54
S.229TRYON CREEDMOORPERCUSSION.45
S.251TRYON MATCHPERCUSSION.45
DELUXE MODELS
L.219TRYON TARGET with maple stockPERCUSSION.45-.50-.54

I've been looking for a Tyron. Unfortunately, I want one with the PMG (Pedersoli Match Grade) barrel. I believe Pedersoli did not begin drilling PMG barrels unit 2012 or so (please correct me if I am wrong). Otherwise, this looks like a fine rifle with a 1:48 twist (the .54 comes in 1:65).
