A friend had this gun and it sat in his gun safe for many years. It was not used much at all, and is probably 15 years old. He had a scoped TC Hawken for hunting, so used the Plains gun more for target shooting. It had slight surface rust in the bore from sitting so long, but as I cleaned it there were no rough spots and shooting it polish it up. I will shoot it some this Sunday. The finish is nearly perfect, with no dents or damage to wood or metal.
