Friends, our 2nd Amendment rights are always under attack and the NRA has been a constant for decades in helping fight that fight.
We have partnered with the NRA to offer you a discount on membership and Muzzleloading Forum gets a small percentage too of each membership, so you are supporting both the NRA and us.
I know it's a bit a way yet, but I drew a Wisconsin Bear tag. I am debating whether or not to use my .62 Virginia rifle or my longbow. Last bear I shot was with my longbow and I am really leaning toward the rifle. Can't wait.
Use the smoke pole! It has a big enough bore to get the job done if you do your part. As you did it with a longbow, you are clearly steady as a rock and probably flinch-free.
Where in Wisconsin do you plan to hunt? Gonna hunt over a stand or with dogs?
I am in Northern Wisconsin and the season will start around the 15th of September. Dogs get to go first this year a week earlier than that. I most likely will just stand hunt but I do have connections to dogs. I might even make myself a 18th century hunting shirt and get in the spirit.
