I owned a 20 bore for 8 years. It was a fine gun. I replaced it with a 28 bore AND a 12 gore....and a double 18 bore.
If I ever get my act together again I'll build a couple more 20s, An 8 bore and a 32 bore. That ought to cover the bases.

I had both the 12 & 20 gauge Pedersoli Side x Side shotguns. Both shot the same 1 & 1/4 oz load of shot with the same powder charge with the same results. Sold the 12! My experience told me that if you want heavier shot loads you are better off with a 10 gauge. The 1 & 1/4 oz loads serve all my shotgun needs so keeping the lighter, handier 20 was a no brainer. What works for me may not work for you! There is no "one" answer.
