Friends, our 2nd Amendment rights are always under attack and the NRA has been a constant for decades in helping fight that fight.
We have partnered with the NRA to offer you a discount on membership and Muzzleloading Forum gets a small percentage too of each membership, so you are supporting both the NRA and us.
This one is a Navy Arms, not positive on the twist rate but most of these seem to be 1:48 but could possibly be 1:60.
A .575 sized minie ball fits best, it shoots both the old style and improved style well. Never shot ball through it to know how it does there. Was given a load recommendation with the rifle and it shot well, didn't venture far from that.
I can add detailed pictures in just a bit for anyone interested.
Additional pics. Also forgot to mention this rifle does not have a rod included. I used a .58 range rod for shooting this one. Bore pics are tough to get, I need to get one of those bobber lights I've seen used recently.
First time I saw one of these was at Sears about 1970. I was 13 years old but was more into archery at the time. It was in a glass display case with a Ted Williams shotgun and a few other long guns.
I have an Antonio Zoli Zouave. They also shoot round ball well. Tried both .570 and .575 out of mine out to 100 yds. Groups quite well with 60 gr. Goex 2f and .018 lubed patch.
Just thought I’d throw that in for the new owner if he chooses to try?
