Looking to get an Uberti 1861 Navy. There are two models once with a brass backstrap and one with a steel backstrap. Did they ever have steel backstops? Note I am not talking about the 1851 London model.
 
If I recall correctly 1861 Navy models that were cut for a shoulder stock had the steel backstrap. I have had a Colt 3'rd gen 1861, cut for stock, and it had a steel backstrap.
