Hello, up for sale is a 1857 Ohio Halfstock rifle made by J Hefner of Marion Ohio. Rifle has been restored to shooting condition and is in phenomenal shape for a rifle that is 162 years old.

Rifle came to me with a hairline crack on the wrist area that has been repaired with maple pins and acraglas compound.

Bore has been reamed to a .45 caliber smoothbore and is in excellent condition and killer on squirrel with ball and equally well with shot.

Original lock is included but functions solely as a display piece. A new R.E. Davis gloucher lock has been inlet and a new powder drum properly installed.

Maple stock has been cleaned, stripped and stained with auqafortis and finished/ sealed with permalyn.

All brass is original and has been cleaned and polished and sealed with renaissance wax.

LOP is right at about 13" I'm 5'6" and it's comfortable, not overly long.

Total length of the rifle is 56".

Will come with percussion caps, cleaning worm, ball puller, and nipple wrench.

Rifle will ship in a custom wood crate, which will be an approximation of $50.00 for shipping depending on location.

Asking $400.00 which is rather firm, any questions please feel free to ask!
