1851 navy cylinder vs 1860 army cylinder

Weird question. I have a Pietta 1851 navy .44cal and a Pietta 1860 army in .44 cal. I ordered spare cylinders for each. When I got them the scenes on the engraving look the same to me. Is the engraving on the cylinders supposed to be the same? I went and looked at the cylinders that came with the guns originally and they seem to be the same as well. I guess I always assumed it was different engraving. Maybe not. Is it normal?

There were never a 44 caliber original 1851, what is offered today is a thing made for the market. Nothing wrong with that just don’t expect it to “as original “.

The Navy revolver in 36 caliber has a naval scene roll engraved on the cylinder. The 44 caliber "navy" revolver is a fantasy piece, as @Phil Coffins states, so the same cylinder engraving can be used.

The 44 is puffed out where the ball goes. It is bigger on one end, the 36 call is the same entirely.

The cylinders are exactly the same

The .36 Navy cylinder has a naval battle scene roll engraved on it

Pietta also uses plain cylinders on some of the .44 brassers
