Euroarms? Are you concerned about barrel strength with the Hornady bullet? I can only see a reference on Hornady's site to a .50 caliber bullet at 385 grains but if they made a .54 version your Mississippi would handle it safely provided you used black powder or an approved substitute. Actually I see that they don't manufacture a .54 bullet in any form in their muzzleloading line.

Euroarms, for sure.
425gr. Great Plains Bullet. Comes with Hornady name on the box. Got two boxes so they do make them.
Thanks berrel strength is what I was looking for.

They used to make them...but have since discontinued them. There are still a few floating around for sale but Hornady won't be making any more of them.

I've owned an 1841 for at least 16 years and ordered it special in the original .54. I did test it with both the Maxi-Ball and the Maxi-Hunter and compared the results with .530" prb. While the "Maxi bullets" did well enough at 60 yards to keep all shots on a paper plate, The patched round ball kept all shots inside a 2" circle. The prb is what I used to kill deer with using that rifle.
