Good afternoon, I am interested in buying a original 1795 Springfield. Thank you all for your time.

Respectfully,
Kyle Kalasnik
You said, an original. Based on Flayderman's Guide, a 1795 Springfield in fair condition would cost around $10,000 in today's dollars.

Right, I’m looking more for a wall hanger. Now I’ve seen a few on Guns International for $ 2-4,000. Just nothing that catches my eye. Thank you for your help.

Be aware that many (if not most) original 1795's were converted to percussion later during the period. Then, sometime during the latter 20th Century, many were re-converted back to original flintlock in an attempt to increase there value. Collectors accept this up to a point. A true, 1795 that has not been converted will usually bring a large premium. But this originality needs to be confirmed by an expert in this field. Some of these later re-conversions were done so well it's difficult to tell. But for the purpose of simple display, even re-converted should sufice.

Rick
