Hi,
A middle class gent probably would not have a pistol unless he had a bit of money. Regardless, turn-off barrel pocket pistols, what you refer to as "Queen Anne" were popular into the 19th century. By the 1770s, the side lock versions were out of fashion and they commonly were box locks with the flintcock centered on the barrel breech. There also were short barreled side lock over coat pistols used for personal protection. Pistols were generally made and sold as pairs, even the turn off pistols.

At the gentry end of middle class, or a subaltern, cornet or midshipman, a pistol like this would be possible. This was produced a few years after our War for Independence but is typical of a brass barrel saddle bag or holster gun. The dagger is a replica of a unique style from an earlier era- a bollocks dagger.
