##11 Schuetzen Caps Caps loose on percussion nipple

I replaced my Pedersoli Frontier Rifle Nipple with a Stainless Steel Nipple from Track of the Wolf.
I am using #11 Schuetzen 4 Alas Caps. These Caps were loose on the original Nipple that came on the rifle. The caps continue to be loose on the new replacement nipple.. I could probably take a pair of pliers and squeeze them on the nipple, but that sure would be a lot of trouble.

I've never used the Schuetzen caps, but is a finger pressure pinch before putting them on enough to snug them up?

Since the nipples are tapered, I just file a little off the top until I achieve the level of cap to nipple snugness I'm looking for. Take it slow, and be sure to blow the filings out with air before you reinstall. After the file fitting, I give the hole under the cap a slight chamfer.

That sounds like a plan that I might try. I did order two stainless steel nipples when I ordered them from track of the wolf. Thank you

I was able to speak to someone at Track of the Wolf this afternoon. He looked at the nipples that I had ordered. When I told him that the #11 Schuetzen caps that I ordered read Musket Cap on the outside of the box he understood what was happening. The musket caps that I ordered have a bigger diameter on the nipple than the regular nipples caps for #11. Track of the Wolf has a muske cap nipple to fit my Pedersoli Frontier Rifle. When they arrive and I change them out I will provide an update on their fit.
As is usually the case it was pilot error!
