Why do most revolvers come with nipples for #10 caps ? Can I change the #10 nipples to #11 nipples, in my Traditions, stainless, 1858 new army, without causing any problems ? If so, what is the thread size if Traditions nipples ?

There really isn't much rhyme or reason for the sizes of caps used on reproduction cap & ball pistols.

Generally speaking, if a #11 cap is too loose, try a #10.

Even this doesn't always work because there is no set standard for the industry to follow in sizing the cone on the nipples.

If you really want to use #11 caps you can get replacement nipples from several suppliers.

Make sure you order the Pistol nipples because the same sized threaded rifle nipples are about 3/16" longer than the pistol nipples and they won't work.

The thread size for your Remington should be a 6mm X .75.
