Any other crazy kids out there?

A piece of sandpaper taped to the end of the barrel would light a kitchen match on the way out for incindiary/tracers in the evening.. OMG I miss those days..😁

    Patches cut at muzzle

I either prelube and roll it up to store or use it plain when spit patching while out walking. Stick one end in your mouth and the other end anywhere handy. P.S. Unlubed patch strips woŕk well when out with your flintlock and you try to wipe moisture from yourflint with your FINGER.. I hear..

hickory ramrods, where to buy the best?

With jewelry making. fire plating and engraving used for intaglio printing (artwork or money), the tools used for polishing areas are very hard, curved surface tools. Those used for cutting are relatively soft matrix materials (wood/fabric/paper) with extremly hard materials...

What a time to try this hobby.

What about a bit of slow match tied to the hammer and for safety, with a little shield covering the nipple vents not needed at any given time? (I've already applied for the patent.. just saying). Self priming and fire as fast as you like.. or even all at once, quite often.

    Best lead for casting ball?

This ONE tip is easily worth a years paid membership upgrade!! I've used a similar technique for goldsmithing since 1969 and it never crossed my mind to adapt the concept to casting. Thank you so much for the information.

    .54 charge workup

I sometimes use packaged soft tortillas as targets. They are easy to tack up and critters can eat the trash for you. Make a good snack if you like and come out of the grocery budget.. not your shooting budget.

    Flint Wallets

I have them, I make them, I use them but... I think that historically they were used to pick up longhunter chicks in the woods like James Bond would offer a cigarette to a spygirl out of a cool silver case.:ghostly:

    Brass ramrod

I've got a 3/8" piece of brass rod I use on my GPR. Fits fine under the barrel. Tapped both ends for accessories.
