WANTED Looking for a wheelock spring

Thank you so much, 8 BORE. You don't happen to have his email address ? It would not be so feasible for me to phone (from Portugal), language problems and all ...

WANTED Looking for a wheelock spring

Hello, please help. I have this wheel lock device, that i think (think) is the Nuremberg type (1680-1600), missing the safety catch spring. Do you folks know where i can find spare springs or someone who forges them ? Thank you in advance. .

Holly cow  What do i have in my hands! I have sent you a PM. Fernando

A Kerr first model (?) revolver. Is it rare ?

Thank you so much for the rating, Mike. Although my query was more on the basis of rarity and abstract value, and considering that my collecting preferences go more towards earlier pieces, i will in this case not exclude the possibility to trade this gun; either sell it or swap it for an item...

A Kerr first model (?) revolver. Is it rare ?

Hi Joe, Just sent you a PM ... or i think i did ... providing PM's in this Forum are Private Topics  Fernando

A Kerr first model (?) revolver. Is it rare ?

Hi guys,i am awfully sorry for the late reaction :surrender: . Many thanks for your input. There isn't much stuff you can find in the web about this gun, specially the first(single)model and its probable 200 units production. It seems as some (most?) of these initial pieces equiped British...

A Kerr first model (?) revolver. Is it rare ?

Could i have some help here? Is this actually a Kerr's patent 'first model' ? I see that it doesn't either have the current device on the left side (barrel axis lock?) nor the lanyard ring. I fail to discern other differences. It is a .36 caliber, so not part of 'massive' Confederate exports...

    Percussion shotgun of small caliber

Here are the unusual (to me) barrel / tang coupling system and some faded marks under the barrel. Fernando . .

Hi Tinker2 Agreed, agreed, agreed and thank you ... did i count well the paragraphs? Fernando

    Percussion shotgun of small caliber

I swear i didn't get upset ... word of an also gray (practicaly white and only half bald) collector:thumbsup: . I don't own a gun/s; i own an antique gun/s, which is a little (lot) different  . Well, if you buy a functional reproduction and you don't go shoot it, that doesn't make much...

    Percussion shotgun of small caliber

I got what Semisane meant, but the answer, for me, could have a double aproach, that is, the gun being shootable and/or my willing to shoot it. In my perspective, the fact that the thing was intended for use over a hundred years ago, doesn't make it have the same purpose nowadays. The charm of...

    Percussion shotgun of small caliber

How old are you Semisane ? Have you been in he army ? I have ... locally and out there :cursing: .Have shot enough rounds with weapons of all sorts. That file is closed for me  . Fernando

    Percussion shotgun of small caliber

Thank you all. When i ask if i can call this calibre a 12 milimeter, is a question of nomenclature; Like you call it a 12 or a 16 gauge, but you call it a 9 milimeter. One thing is for sure; i am not going to shoot the thing. I am a 'non shooting' collector. Yes Mazo, when i was a kid i...

    Percussion shotgun of small caliber

A slender example for small game. I had it filed as a boy's piece, but i suddenly concluded that, as its length is the same as a current shotgun (1,20 mt), it is instead an adult weapon for light game, measuring 12 mm at the muzzle and with its slim stock. Is it correct to say this is a 12 mm...

A Blunderbuss ... is it British?

Thanks a lot for your input Gentlemen. This piece belongs to a friend of mine; i will transmit him your coments. I had already adviced him to dismount the barrel, looking for some marks. Fernando

A Blunderbuss ... is it British?

Well, probably not British, although the stock and lock could be ? I don't know about the brass barrel, which apparently has no marks. Could i have some coments on this piece, please? Fernando .

    Small cannon (?) for coments

Thanks Many, I can't shoot it in reality, but i keep shooting it in my imagination. Fernando
