Found OLD GUN need to identify

"Firearms International" was once located in Washington, DC. Then they relocated to Florida (?) before going belly-up, IIRC. Believe they bought in things from Spain & Italy,

    Centennial Arms 1960 Army

FVR: Another responder kindly provided the link above to one of many threads on the Cas City forum concerning the Belgian-made 1860 Army "Centennial". In it, you will see several replies from a frequent poster on Cas City, "Long Johns Wolf", aka Wolf D. Niederastroth. Wolf is a collector and...

    Colt Walker failure

What Mykeal said. The Colt open-top architecture depends on the proper positioning of the barrel assembly to the frame. Holding the two halves of the pistol in proper alignment is key. The red flag is your cylinder gap and end-play. There are a variety of factors that can cause it to...

Walker Hits The 135 Yard Gong--Again!

That's gotta be true - wonder if anybody's chronyed Walker loads lately to determine where the diminishing returns kick in? Had to get outta the chair & look at Mike Venturino's data in Shooting Colt Single Actions (1995): he lists Goex & Elephant both at FFg & FFFg at 60gr and nothing else but...

Walker Hits The 135 Yard Gong--Again!

Russ, are those Uberti Walkers you're shootin'? Dixie has 'em on sale now and I am sorely tempted... The possibility of battering was raised to me on another forum by a much more experienced C&Ber than I, so I am glad to hear that you've seen no problems with yours.

Walker Hits The 135 Yard Gong--Again!

Yep, read that 60gr was the load somewhere when I first got it (Uberti Walker) with no wad but lube over the ball. Whole lotta fun; backed down to 45 to avoid too much battering, but still...for sheer smoke & flame - and still decent accuracy...

who's got a 58 cal "hawkin" type caplock?

T/C 'Big Boar'; .570 PRB with .018 uncrushed linen. Not much chance to work with it since the range burned down.

Nose caps - Totally Dumb Question

Well, many thanks to you, Paul, for your cogent and lucid explanation of the varieities of nose cap attachment. That antler cap using a compound mitered dovetail sounds great. Because I'll be working with a quasi-half stock, I'll use the pinned/screwed wrapped sheet metal on reduced diameter...
