    Shooting BirdShot from pistol

Dumb question, but is this ok/legal to do with muzzle loading pistols? I know the ATF does not really regulate muzzle loaders. If so, what loads are recommended? Similar weight worth of shot as the round ball the pistol would usually shoot? Anybody have any tips to share? You may have seen...

    Philadelphia Derringer Help!

Well I picked up some supplies from The Log Cabin Store in Lodi Ohio and got it all complete. It turns out that a TG from a Traditions pistol is an exact match. It cost what I paid for the pistol, but I think I still came out ahead  With the above stated load I penetrated a pop can full...

    Philadelphia Derringer Help!

I did look a bit closer at it, and the barrel does say Jukar.I e-mailed dixieguns yesterday to see if they can get me in touch with someone for a TG. I loaded it up today with 20g FFFG, some toilet paper, and a few bb's and put a hole in a pop can from a few feet. Fun little noise shooter.

    Philadelphia Derringer Help!

Ok. Since I doubt the gun is accurate, I'll probably just use it for making noise. What would be a good charge to try? 20g of FFFG for a start? I'll probably stop by a local muzzle-loading store unless I can get some more opinions on the gap before firing it. It does pop caps good though.

    Philadelphia Derringer Help!

Got this little thing today at a gunshow for 10 bucks. It's missing the trigger guard, and is otherwise complete. But I do have a concern...... The slight gap as shown below. Is this normal? How is this barrel assembly made? Is the barrel screwed in separate from the rear trunnion/tang part...

yep it's the hawkins rifle. I like the trapper pistol, I've only shot it a few times at 25yrds but it gets about 2 inch groups at that distance, could probally do better.

    Trapper pistol?

I built the trapper kit a few months ago. I've only probally shot it 15 times or so but from what I can tell it's crazy accurate at 25yrds and fun to shoot too.

Traditions Trapper Pistol 4-H build #2

Hey guys, getting ready to wrap things up and put it together for the last time tommorrow. I was wondering though what I should use to finish the wooden ramrod? I thought linseed oil wouldnt be great due to the dirt and junk the ramrod gets. Any sugestions?

I figured it out, the trigger front inlay was a bit too deep so I put a shim under it and it works good now. I'll just have to find a more perminant shim
