    Waterproofing Cow's Knee

    Bees wax. Melt, paint it on then use heat to drive it in to the leather. heatgun or hair dryer works real good. Use a double boiler type arrangement to melt it. It will be stiff, but if you work it around it will losen up. Ronnie

    I have a Case XXX butcher that I have reshaped and covered handle with rawhide, but I don't thnk it looks as good as yours. I might try to make a sheath like that with all the brass tacks and nails. That is cool. Ronnie

    Little Old Horn

    This is a little old horn I picked up in an antique store in Maine. It is about 7" long and butte is 1 3/8-1 5/8". Has an octagonal carved sprout with little notches cut in it. It had powder in it and is thin enough to see the powder in it. An addition to my collection. Ronnie

    Put a kettle of cold water next to you and dip in wax, in water, in wax etc. Cools them down between layers. Ronnie

    A friend of mine washed a commercial hide in the washer with a dose of clorox and it came out the color of smoked braintan, but it is still commercial. :idunno: Ronnie
