    What size powder should I use?

    The nice thing about black powder weapons is that you can decrease the load. I used 30 grains of 3f in my 45 cal Kentucky this last weekend for my 10 year old nephew. He went 4 for 4 on steel out to 50 yards with this load. Maybe consider giving that a try when introducing a new person to this...
