Did you want to build a gun or would you consider one already built. I think TOTW has some walnut stocked jaegers for sale. I would prefer the walnut also.

    heating frizzen

I am going to build a box to fire blue barrels after reading the instructions in a past post. I would like to do the locks too but what do I do about the frizzen? I think the heat might affect it and if so what can I do instead to match it to the rest of the hardware?

    Lehigh Rifle History

Some questions I have about these rifles. Were they in existance as early as they're Lancaster counterparts and are there any examples that date around the time of the Revolution? Also, do they have the German influences that the Lancaster guns do? Would like to know a little more about they're...

    POWDER STORAGE QUESTION

Ive been thinking about this also. I have considered purchasing a storage container but after some of your opinions I think I will stay away from those. What do you all think about a small pit dug covered with a piece of plywood or something. Besides it not being secure, what would I need to do...

    Traditional ML'ing on the rise?

Does anyone know of other commercial or industrial uses for real blackpowder? I would also like to know the volume of powder made by Goex or other companies. Seems to me as long as they're making money and the liberals in Washington dont sweat over it we might continue to have a source here in...

Thanks for all the input. Due to your responses Ive ruled out browning. Now If I decide to blue it I need to research it a bit. Ive never blued any hardware. Only browned.

    Jaeger Barrel?Blue or Brown

Which would be more typical for the barrel and lock of a Brandenburg school of Jaeger rifle. I have seen Jaeger rifles with both finishes but am wondering if there is a general rule of thumb.

    Horn Strap

Just purchased a woven strap for my F&I period horn. It has six braided strands on either end and Im wondering if there is a preferred method for attaching it to the horn. Not sure if I should use a couple of the middle strands or all somehow. The way you all attach them or any methods you have...
