    triple 7 powder

I'm still here and appreciate the response. I have to go to town to get on the Internet and then I forget some of the places I need to go. I seldom shoot BP anymore, most of my shooting buddies have moved on and it's a hassle to dirty a gun for a few shots by myself. I mostly shoot 10 meter...

    triple 7 powder

Has anyone tried 777 in a .45 percussion rifle? If so how much? How was the accuracy? Would you recommend it aver BP? Thanks

    Alliant black dot powder

I was hoping there would be an easier way, I don't mind cleaning after a days shooting but to just go out and take a few shots then have to clean I'd rather leave them in the case and shoot the 22s. which is why I haven't shot a ML in over a year.

    Alliant black dot powder

I read that the ignition temp is close to that of BP and will work in a flint. What I read and what is reality may not be the same. The corrosivness is supposed to be an par with what you would put in a 243 or shotgun. That would get me shooting my MLs again. Looking for info from someone who...

    Alliant black dot powder

Well I've heard from those who never used it and don't like it and those who love original BP but has anyone here actually used Black dot and can give the pros and cons on its performance?

    Seneca tang sight

Are you still looking for a tang sight? I made one for mine, it's a fold down type fully adjustable. It screws down on the existing tang screw holes.I could put out plans or pics if interested. May take awhile. I used only hand tools and a drill press. Let me know.

    small bore shotguns

Rusty? Why do you want to put doe urine in a pipe? Let me explain this for you. The Skoal goes between the lip and the gum. The Half and Half goes in the pipe. Please do not mix these up or you will have more of these ideas. :rotf:

    small bore shotguns

Since these are a true .45 they are legal for deer in NY. It's great hunting with a 3 lb. or less gun. I limit my range to 10 yds. If I get that close then I put out my pipe load the gun and shoot him. Haven't shot a deer in 25 years but I love hunting them.

    small bore shotguns

Here's some smoothies I built years ago. The top one is a .62 trade gun with an interchangable .54 barrel. the second one is a .45 smooth built to the top one's proportions. the lower is a perc. .45 smoothbore. Years ago Dixie was selling these little barrels for $15.00 ea. I believe they're...

    Seneca .32

Sorry I'm so late getting back. Years ago I was working for Ken Bresene from Warsaw NY. He made barrels and guns for the big double rest bench matches. He had a rifling machine that he made himself. It was made on a piece of railroad rail, had a big hand crank on and would take out about .0001...

    Seneca .32

Years ago I came across a Douglas barrel in .32 that was stamped 36. So I made a breach plug to fit my Seneca and now I can switch from .45 to .32 very easily. Btw The Seneca had very shallow rifling for the maxi ball that was popular at the time. Since I only shoot RB I deepened the rifling to...

    Historical Correctness of Peep Sight?

Gary, You made a point that many may have missed. The peep can not only serve as a sight to align on a target but to sharpen the image of the rear sight. The rear sight is adjusted for range while the peep is left alone. Some "peeps" aren't even mounted on the gun but on the shooters glasses...

    old time barrel corrosion

Well I'm just about out of the old stuff, time to try some new made powder & see if there's a difference. haven't cleaned the 870 in years, kinda like that.lol

    old time barrel corrosion

I have'nt bought B. powder in in 20 years, ( cheap stuff )is it possible that powder is more corrosive than new manufacture? is it possibly reacting to petrolium based lubes which I don't think was common 200 years ago. Has anyone bought BP recently and noticed any difference or is it still...
