    green river blades

They do make good blades! I just bought a 8" chef's knife made by Green River for the stately sum of $.50. It looks like it was NEVER used. I was sooo happy, and I don't even need it! A good knife is hard to pass up.

    Austin black powder

I have a partial pound can of Austin "Pistol" powder. Shoots OK but very dirty in my rifle. Can looks like a GOEX can but unpainted(silver) with applied red and white label. No idea where it came from.

TOW Bucks County Rifle Kit Update

The original Bucks County rifles with the side opening patchbox that I have seen actually have the patchbox attached with tacks or nails. Permanent installation with not much chance to tweak once it's installed. Yea mine up to this point are screwed in though.

    Bucks County Patchbox fitted

I know it's too late for you but for those following this build, please allow the "barrel" of the patchbox lid hinge to extend all the way through the buttplate. I think I see a notch in the buttplate that should be filled with the barrel. Not nitpicking, just for future info. I hope this shows...

    L & R Durs Egg Flinter Question

I hope you marked the fly as to which side goes against the tumbler and which goes towards the lock plate. It can be confusing. To answer the question, I have one on a rifle and it functions fine!

Crack near the breech. Uh oh.

It appears to me that you will be cutting the wood this crack is in away. Lets see if I can explain... first of all the wood will be cut back to just about the "shoulder" where the barrel bears on the stock at the breech, and the sides will be reduced forward of that to 1/2 or less of the barrel...

    Just finished finally

That is a good look at one of Herr Verner's pipes, belly plate notwithstanding. One of the things it's hard to discern from most photos. No denying the patchbox, huh? Buttplate looks like a later percussion type and the stock looks a bit beefier for his work, but still good details to be...
