Paper cartridges in cap and ball?

I make them, they work. Use a sub calibre dowel to roll the paper behind the ball so you get a nice taper

    Attempted Presidential Assassination

From the little I know of Ol' Hickory, if you shot him you would just make him angry.

    Remington Hammer

Gday, I hope someone is able to help me here. I am looking for a replacement hammer for an original Remington NMA (1864 manf). Does anyone know where I can get one? (The Dixie Gunworks ones are no good, I've tried and the geometry is way out)

    .58 cal Harpers ferry

I suggested TOTW as I recently had to replace a sear spring on a flintlock, They did not stock the particular model but as they have life sized pictures it was easy to select the mos similar. It is now in place and working.

Do you display your muzzleloaders, or keep them locked up?

Lucky, our Govt makes us keep them under lock and key just in case they get theurge to kill and cause a massacre :cursing:

    Six Shot Muzzleloading Rifle ??

Have a look at the link i gave; Your hand doesn't have to be in front of anything. It is fairly comfortable and steady to hold it this way. Also it is a light handy rifle. I wouldn't use it on anything big tho, remember it is a New model Army revolver on steroids, nothing more, nothing less.

    Six Shot Muzzleloading Rifle ??

I have one, fun to use but it can be troublesome. I get a face full of spent powder and crud and it can leave tattoos on your face. Having said that mine is reasonably reliable and surprisingly accurate. Link

    19th Century Concealed Carry

I have an original 49 Colt, .36 Manhattan and New Model Army. I sure as hell wouldn't want to lug the Remington in a shoulder holster but would be happy carrying the 4" Manhattan or 51/2" Colt.

    Cannon in Reenactments

Just on that note, I did medieval reenactment a long time ago. In Australia we are generally unfamiliar with cannon being used for reenactment, as a result a smallish medieval piece was being fired in an arena event. I was a good few hundred meters away in an encampment, having noting to do with...

I would expect that shooting my revolver carbine, but I haven't had that problem with a cap or flintlock.

What size RB for .31 cal?

Just bragging here, but I was practically given(AU$80) an original double cavity mould (RB & Conical) to go with my original Pocket COlt :) I gave it a test run and the pills were a bit rough but useable and as the mould heated up old oil seeped out of it. Pretty good score I thought. WS
