    Black powder or Pyrodex

I agree with you. I used pyrodex many years ago, but it was never as consistent as black powder and seems to be harder to clean. I tried it in BPCR and found the same.

Sharon Rifle kit or Thompson Center

This should be a keeper for sure. If the barrel has been taken care of it should shoot plum center for many years to come. I have one on my scratch built Hawken that I built in the mid 70's and it still shoots as good as I can hold it. I've shot it in comp. quite a few times. I'm sure I've put...

    Black powder or Pyrodex

When I started shooting in club shoots back in the 1970's I was shooting a standard TC Hawken. Pyrodex was new at that time and was cheap and easy to come by. I used it for several years in the rifle and had good luck with it. I don't remember what year the plant blew up, but I don't think I...

Black powder substitute in TC hawken

One of my first muzzle loaders was a TC Hawken that I bought used. I'm almost sure that I shot it over a thousand times. While I owned it I don't think it ever had anything but pyrodex RS used in it. It was used in a lot of club shoots and a little hunting. The rifling was looking pretty worn so...

Did I overpay for this Colt Signature Series?

I have a Colt Signature 1861 rifle that I bought unused several years ago. You can bet it wasn't long after that I was out on the range shooting it. It shoot very accurate at close range with mini and round ball, but at 100 yd's patched round ball is the most accurate. Really a nice looking...
