    In the movie Mohawk, set in upper NY during the war of 1812 there is a scene where one of the American soldiers ws creeping through the woods with his rifle at the ready, unfortunately his frizzen was in the open position

    I remember reading that the Turks had this giant cannon tube, I think it was perhaps 3' dug into the ground overlooking the Dardanelles. I'm not sure what it was made of, but they calculated the impact point based upon the powder charge.

    I use 1F for my cannons when I can find it. I use aluminum foil for cartridges and always worm and mop between shots.

    Good move. That it never happened to you yet does not mean it can't happen. Better to take the time for precautions it's not like you have the enemy charging you. I have never charged from a flask.
