    No, don’t do it. Too dangerous and unreliable. Buy a cartridge firearm appropriate for you purpose.

    Quieter than larger calibers and quieter the longer the barrel. Hearing protection needed especially at the range, not as much in the field but electronic hearing protection much advised everywhere.

    What is your favorite wax for your stock?

    If I use wax I use Johnson’s Paste Wax as well, but I usually just wipe both metal and wood with Ballistol oil.

    Lets face it, a large part of the traditional style black powder game is using one’s imagination. If someone likes a “51” Navy style in .44, as I do, so be it and those that criticize can fall in the lake! My Pietta .44 “1851” is the sweetest smoothest BP cap & ball I have.
