Best way to clean sideplate brass?

My favorite is Five Star Brass and Metal polish from the fine folks at Zep. This stuff is a pink paste that comes in a big toothpaste like tube and is just great.

    New Orleans Ace

I just acquired a New Orleans Ace kit pistol that is probably thirty years old at least, it was partially assembled and I finished it. It is in 44 smoothbore, I haven't shot it yet but it looks and feels like it will be a fine little shooter. I have questions because it is a smooth bore, the...

    CVA Hawken grouping

Zonie speaks with much wisdom, I came into this from the flip side when I down sized the loads from my deer hunting loads to something children could shoot at the range....I am always amazed at the accuracy of the prb

Any of your .45's shoot tighter with 2f?

I always used 2F for everything and only started using 3F when I couldn't get the 2. I always downsized my loads a wee bit with the 3 and I think my results have been remarkably similar nearly the same. Now I regularly use both, but I always keep in mind to use a wee less with 3

    new to throwing

I was tossin by myself, I had no one to heckle me. So, I heckled myself and acheived great success. Definitely all in the distance. I got that figured out and I stuck it every time. The other good piece of advice was to put the foot forward opposite of what you throw....that helps alot, I was...

    Why 490 versus 495

    3F or 2F?

I regularly use both. I use a wee bit less powder when I'm shooting with 3F. It seems to be a bit hotter. I find that is the only difference for me. My choosing factor is what is for sale at the shoots that I go to when I stock up. If I had to be forced to pick, I think I'd go with 3.

    54 cal tc

more like a steal! I have one and I love it. It's a bit heavy carrying it in the woods on a long day, but well worth it when you take the shot. Very well made, and it's Made in the USA. M

    .54 plains pistol.

Get it. I have had the PP in a 50 for a few years now and I love it. It's a great shooter, very accurate. I use it a lot, I would love to shoot a deer with it. I carry it un capped, but when I sit I set the rifle down for a spell, cap the PP and sit with that in my lap I would not hesitate to...

The "New" .58 Howdah - What to Load...

I don't think that's too small of a load for a pistol....and you are talking FFF here...I'd be fine with startin with that and see how it is...if ya want to liven it up a bit you can by all means...The current issue of American Rifleman has a write up about the Howda and it looks cool. That...
