New to these parts and in Chattanooga. I acquired a pile of guns and ammo, to include Uberti Santa Fe .54 cal from Lakeville, CT and several others.

I’m as friendly a feller as you’re likely to ever meet. Just have a low tolerance for pilers-on who incorrectly think they’re clever. One of the perks of old age I guess.

Thinks he’s a wit and he’s half right. Like everything else, it’ll sail right over his head.

    WITHDRAWN Howdy Howdah!

Is one bore rifled? Kinda looks like it in one photo.

Spoken like a true keyboard warrior. If ya can’t refute,, start slingin’ mud. But I’m impressed. Only took you a day & a half to come up with this attempt at bad@$$ery. You failed.

Nah. Came here to learn or to teach, not buy & sell. And to amuse myself reading comments from the sycophants…….such as yourself.

Don’t know anything about the Uberti but, I totally agree with your assessment of the value of the TC guns.

Went right over your head Dave. The level of fear, distrust, and paranoia on this one site is far greater than on all other sites I view combined. I don’t know how anybody gets a deal done here.

Wow! Think I’ll file a police report and tell them every gun on gunbroker was stolen from me.

    TC Penn. Hunter percussion

The Pennsylvania Hunter is an excellent gun with a longer, roundball twist barrel. As with any used gun, condition is king.

FOR SALE T/C New Englander 12ga

Remington chokes have the same .812 x 32 threads but the first 1/2 or 3/4 inch above the threads is .817 inch diameter. Chucked in a drill press and a few minutes with a fine file will make them work in other guns.

    File recommendation for sight dovetail?

When you buy that cheap file, spend another couple bucks for a disc for a 4-inch side grinder & use it hand-held to polish off the teeth on one side of the file.

    File recommendation for sight dovetail?

If you anticipate doing a lot of dovetails, splurge and buy the gunsmith safe file from Midway or Brownells et al. For the occasional home project, buy a small 3 corner file at the hardware & grind one side smooth.

    CLOSED TC Pennsylvania Hunter stock

A White Mountain Carbine stock would also work for you. The only real difference in the two is one has a steel buttplate while the other has a thin recoil pad.

Got any dumb statements by idiots?? (Muzzleloading shooting related)

"My barrel was made by Sharon/Douglas/Green Mountain" just because their TC Hawken has a stamp on the bottom of the barrel.

    Shotgun came already loaded.

I've bought two like that just in the last couple years. One from a local gun show, the other from gunbroker. Both shot out & cleaned up just fine. Also, I bought a box-lot of 17 or 18 powderhorns off gunbroker. One of them arrived filled to the brim with what looks to be 3F powder.

    T?C Hawken

I believe he's saying the grip area is checkered, not that it has a pistol-grip stock. And either necchi or SDSlf is correct on where the checkering came from.

Thompson center percussion lock with safety

I have seen a percussion lock with a safety lever but it wasn't a TC. Can't remember what gun it was.

    New rifle

Some days I'd trade mine for a handful of once-fired minie balls.

    T/C Hawken with Blued Furniture

TC themselves made a Hawken with blued furniture. It came from their Fox Ridge Outfitters custom shop. Believe they called it the Hawken Custom Classic or some such. Had a 30 or 31 inch high-gloss blue barrel. One problem with changing out the brass for blue is that no-one makes a replacement...
