I think you will like it if the marinade is right.

I much prefer to marinate squirrels over night in the fridge then put them into my smoker. I do a bunch at one time.

No, but if I wanted to keep her out of my truck all I have to do is put a fake mouse in there. Never seen anything like it. She sees a mouse and instantly…….the lights are on but ain’t no body home. I’m dead serious about that, too. Difficult to fathom a woman that would go up in the mountains...

Thank you. I use to fly fish when I lived out west. Haven’t done any since moving east of the big muddy river.

Took my new Traditions Crockett to range for the first time

Might want to step it up to a .015 patch. Mine will actually take a .018 patch but I’ve been using .015 pillow ticking instead. Makes it easier to start the patch/ball into the muzzle by fingers only. No short starter required.

Tom, I reckon I should contact MEPS and see if they are interested in all the Many squirrel tails I have all over the place. They kind of go flat after a while anyway.

Nope, not me. That’s preposterous. 🤣 My gosh, how this gig has totally consumed this old mountain man. I mean, there ain’t nothing like like it. Nothing can compare. I never thunk it. Now this don’t mean a thing but I just got in from going and picking up a Daniel Boone National Forest map. I...

    2024/2025 Squirrel Hunting Thread...........

I presently have squirrel tails in 3 rooms of the house and all over the dash board of my truck. I need to do something with them. Me and the old gal have been butting heads over them for months now. Oh wait, second thought, maybe I should leave them where they are just for the fun of it. 😇 Now...

Spry…….had to look that one up. 😁 Not so sure I fit that definition just yet but I am working on slowly building myself back up. It’s slower than wet gun powder. Still have a month so I have high hopes of getting there by the time season opens. Getting older ain’t for sissies but I do find...

    2024/2025 Squirrel Hunting Thread...........

Perhaps, that's if there's any left by then. If they keep playing in the darn roads that's a big IF. There are many dead squirrels in the roadways here. Been that way for over a month. As I have said, its been many years since I've seen so many squirrels this time of year. There is a high...

Squirrels everywhere here. Its been a long time since I've seen so many squirrels this time of year. Saw 6 going over to my my happy hunting grounds area to visit a friend. Its only about 2.5 road miles away. Saw 7 on the return. Then I went to town later and saw a few dead ones in the road, as...

    2024/2025 Squirrel Hunting Thread...........

Understood. I have to be extra careful whenever using my chainsaw in that thicket. It would be real easy to make a bad mistake that would do a lot of tissue damage, and in a hurry, too. Swinging that thing around in the air, side to side, and often over my head. Out of over 45 years running...

🤣 Last year I had both of my thumbnails coming off at the same time. They were ugly. Sometimes I’m about as graceful as an intoxicated draft horse.

    2024/2025 Squirrel Hunting Thread...........

Ah, the briar battle wounds. I recognize them. Last week when I came home and walked through the door, my wife looked at my and said “what happened to you”? My hands, face, forehead and even from inside my nostrils had been bleeding. Not to mention a few broken off briars in the top of my head...
