SOLD - Pending funds WTS 1740 Potsdam Lock (TRS parts, assembled)

Something else that was left out of our glorious history lessons, is that when Congress was to vote on what the official language of our new country would be. The English language beat out the German language by only 1 vote. If y'all recall the 2 most numerous New World settlers, especially here...

    Trigger guard install

I pin whenever I can. As to original guns, you see more screws on poor boy mountain rifles than on Pa. rifles from known builders. Pinning, especially if the TG is inletted, seems much more secure. Semper Fi.

Suggestions for 'old time' dark/black stain or dye?

I use either MinWax Ebony or Spanish Oak. Both are very dark to black when multi-coated. Being oil-based stains, they're also good wood protectors. Semper Fi

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I finished a pistol for a friend. I absolutely 'do not like' doing pistols. IMHO, they are more work than any rifle or musket I have ever built. Semper Fi

    Italian flintlock problems

The answer to your problem is to relocate the sear spring screw hole. Cut a new anchor slot and install a sear spring so it contacts the sear at a better angle. Where the new hole and slot go is determined by the size of the new sear spring. Semper Fi.

CLOSED Help with a pistol butt cap. No longer needed.

I took on this pistol build for a friend. Apparently, this pistol has been sitting around for many years. I have most of it together, however, I'm having trouble with the butt cap. This walnut is so hard it's like chiseling granite. I'm looking for someone who can install this butt cap for me at...
