    Plugged Bore

Cool....I've never tried that, but looks simple enough to me using the grease gun like in the video. Only once at a shoot while jabbering with next door neighbors shooting their guns down range I dry loaded a ball. I took the nipple out.Poured in about 10 grains of fff.Put a cap on it. and fired...

    round balls don't do well

I'm surprised more people don't use a slower twist for round balls.I realize every barrel can be different.Tighter twists work well for conicals.I still use a montana rifle barrel from the MRBC on my .54 JBMR.35" long barrel.1 in 72" twist with my round balls.Thin silver blade front site.Used to...

    A new Powder Horn (#23)

Beautiful scrimshaw work.Finely detailed. You have that nice aged look on it also. Your a true scrimshander I'd say. Long ago I did a cow horn articulating another hobby of mine.Coonhunting.Not near as fine of work as yours but just satisfied myself with it. Think I used a glovers needle/india...

    Tanning first timer tips???

I've only used brains.Done hundreds of hides. Many have done it with lecithin crystals or granuals. They can b be boughton on line. It's the lecithin that allows the fibers to be stretched. Not sure of the quality though.

    Rifls case

Could be you could make your own.....Made this years ago from some bark tanned elk I did. This JBMR weighs a little over 10 pounds with a 35" barrel. On long hikes I use it.Never store it in though. The muzzle carries downward on it.Nothing overhead to catch on branches and stuff.

    Making paper cartridges

Great informative video. Back in the early 1980's I made my version of these for my .54 using a half inch dowel.Makes for quicker second shots. Any kind of good typing paper will do. Cotton string to seperate ball from powder. I dip the ball end in a mixture of bees wax and tallow. When wanting...

I just bought a snub nosed .38 special less than a week ago.Sometimes I need to go to the big city.I'm sure it's a fine pistol you've got there and thanks for the offer.I'm really not a gun collector.A few rifles.A couple shotguns, and a couple pistols is all I own.
