    There is going to be the Hawken Classic at the Daniel Boone home in August , there will be some of the best Hawken experts there is at the event , Bob Browner, and the current owner of the Hawken Shop will be there along with a few more , your rifle could be verified then.

    I looked in my set of James D Gorden books this morning and the trigger guard and pewter nose cap appear to be identical to one of the Midwestern style of rifles fir local trade , the flash guard behind the hammer kinda appears to be added and possibly made of sheet metal.

    That appears to be an original Hawken that they made for the central states , I know of one in a collection around St.Louis that I handled a few years ago , you definitely have a rare gem .
