    Wilson 1821 lock

Sounds like you have an English lock made by Wilson for a trade gun. The book ' For Trade and Treaty' has good info as does 'The Encyclopedia of Trade Goods Firearms Volume 1' from the Museum of the Fur Trade. Also search this forum for posts from member @Rob M. He has posted pics of originals...

    browning

I found that using finer finishing grits to polish the barrel didn't help. I'd try roughing it up from the 320 you used to 220 grit or so. You could try this on a bottom surface so if you don't like the result it won't be seen since you've already polished to finer grit.

    Handmade entry pipe question

Anyone who's made a handmade entry pipe, how did the transition from pipe to tab look? My first attempt here. I feel like there is too much slope in the transition. Figured I'd get opinions before wasting a chunk of brass.

Anybody ever get a Daguerreotype/tintype/Ambrotype of themselves?

Me and my daughter did a tin type in Gettysburg. Got dressed up as a Confederate soldier and she did a nice lady's outfit. It was a fun time and the photo turned out great. We were able to watch the whole process of the tin plate being immersed in the chemicals and watching the image appear. I...

Can you get 3 aimed shots a minute?

Loading from the bag or from a shooting bench? From a bench with everything laid out maybe. From my bag I doubt it, maybe close but probably couldn't make 3. Edit to add I missed the type of weapon mentioned. My response was using a flintlock with patched round ball.

    Flint to frizzen angle?

Perhaps try a little larger flint or shim that one out a bit? I assume in the pic that you are holding it in that position and that it's not actually at half cock. If that is half cock then forget what I said.

    Jaeger "From Scratch"

I'd say you are in for a good time. Going this route will give you lots of freedoms. You'll be able to build about anything you want. You can add cast off/on to the stock, have a stock with an exact LOP that fits you. You'll have control over each step and wont have to work backwards or work...
