    My first .36 revolver

it depends on what you call regular shooting. have you hit 1k rounds yet? I shot nothing but real BP and RB in my .36 open top colts and they both fell apart. my current brass 1858 I have only fired 30g for one cylinder . my normal load is 25g of T7 and RB I will never buy another brasser...

Difference in Cimarron Colt Walker vs "regular" Uberti Walker?

ed, curious what you have against transfer bars? I really like them. I had an AD in the holster fast drawing an 1858 when i was a kid. thumb slipped off the hammer before it locked up. caught my pants on fire but I got super lucky and did not get hurt other than scared. Transfer bar would...

    My cap-n-ball revolvers

awesome. always wanted a box set with the powder flask. preferably an 1860 army

    My first .36 revolver

they also probably didn't have enough spare ammo to shoot the things as much as I shoot mine and perhaps the originals are stronger than the replicas? Either way I have a 100% failure rate with 3 different brass frames. two 36 cal open tops and one .44 1858. If you are only going to shoot 500...

    Pietta Sheriff's model 44 caliber

My brass frame Pietta 58 shot perfectly when new . problem is if you shoot it 100 rnds or so a week by the time you get really attached to it its worn out... My steel frame the trigger is not as nice as my brasser but despite twice as many rounds through it the cylinder is still nice and tight...

    My first .36 revolver

trust me brass is trash for anything other than a wall hanger.

    My first .36 revolver

the two brassers I shot out in the 70s I did with real BP and RB. I remember one of them the arbor was so loose you could wilggel it around and the hammer could not reach the nipple. Brassers are useless as tits on a boar hog.

    My first .36 revolver

that boxed pistol is beautiful. you guys do you but three strikes and out for brasserrs for me. I do Not consider 25g of T7 to be a hot load with RB yet this is what my new 1858 looks like after about 1k rounds. and its now looser than one of them tic tok chicks...

    My first .36 revolver

I shot out two .36cal brassers and a .44 Everyone was saying that the brass is better now than it was in the 70s so I bought a new brasser and its already toast. you do you but I would not buy one for anything other than a wall hanger and I don't really do wall hangers.

Continual trouble inserting Uberti 1858 cylinder

Like anything with pistols it requires practice and lots of it. i may be the only one who does it this was but I put on half cock and don't touch the hammer after that. I slide in from the left and rotate counter clock wise. I can do it at a dead run with both my 1858's

Are Some BP Revolvers Just Not Reasonably Accurate?

I am All about benching just don't do it from distsnces where the powder is burning the paper.

Are Some BP Revolvers Just Not Reasonably Accurate?

I think the only reason you need filler is if uor loader is too short for the light load to compress the charge. i load off the gun so its a non issue for me.

    Possible build?

rifles usually have a one in 48 and pistols 1 in 20. the only pistol I have personally seen made from a rifle barrel the fellow loads it really hot because he said that the best accuracy he gets but he usually does not hit much if anything..

Are Some BP Revolvers Just Not Reasonably Accurate?

If i cant find paper I might start at 15 or 20 yrds. If I have a really nice 7yrd bill drill target however that probably says more about the grips/ergonomics and my skill than anything to do with static/ bench accuracy.. if I had a .38sp with small grips I would put bigger grips on it. the...

    Thoughts on Percussion Caps

I use my caps and constantly on the lookout for more. I would have bought 5k but was chicken to be that flippant with money when both my vehicles need work etc. I usually shoot about 10 to 20 shots a day with the le page and 12 to 24 a week with the 1858 so realistically with the 1k I had on...
