58 Colonial and The Bull Elk

My understanding as far as GB goes is that all (allowed) firearms have to be kept at a club location which= disarmed to me. And as I am also a fan of air rifles I also know that GB regulates these as well based on energy levels to such a low number a slingshot is a better option.

I don't know about the drugged up statement but don't know enough to rule it out. But motivation is very powerful and the jihadis are very motivated. I'd say their fanaticism mimics the Japanese in WW2.

I must politely ask you with what do you hunt these animals? My reading these last recent years has myself arriving at the conclusion that all New Zealanders have been effectively disarmed.

That's true but my ins is 80/20. Can't swing the 20. Waiting 2.5 more years for 65 and Medicare.

We're not talking about parking lots per-se we're talking about the outlawing of tech in hunting without which damaged individuals are relegated to the couch due to mobility issues. But to your point 99.9% of the time the handicapped spots in parking lots are taken and yes I do have to walk to...

Actually I can hop out of my stock height 4x and walk into the store from the handicapped spot for which I have a plate. 100 yds on flat ground is my limit. Far less on broken ground before walking becomes a painful necessary evil. Scouting game on foot is impossible for me. So when you take...

That fine when it's your choice. But I still like to participate and the govt is regulating me out of it through restrictions that they say is for the animals benefit. But really it's just about getting more money out of your pocket by force and at the same time curtailing my success by not...

    Backpacking with longer rifles

Nice pics! But I have to ask your age. I haven't been able sleep on a hard surface much less the ground since my 40s. Heck even 15 min on the concrete changing oil leaves me stove up the rest of the day.

As I pointed out previously we ( the old and damaged) are being told "too bad for you" just go do something else (die!!) There has to be exceptions. Which will be abused by some but that's the price of a free society.

Hip replacement! 200 counted steps flat ground then the intolerable pain hits.

Where would one find a +0.50 lens? I've never seen one. Or would I need to request them from an optometrist?

If I fly AA to get to my dream hunt its none of the wardens GD business. Like I said earlier the key word was [any] aircraft that day [ any] implies the 747 out of wherever to wherever that day!!!! You know after 9/11 I had a border patrol stop me in my big truck and ask me where I was going. I...

Since I'm old cantankerous and don't tolerate LEO phishing schemes. If asked about my recent modes of travel my response would be as an over 21 free American citizen how I get from point a to b is none ya.

The word [any] is the key word. A person could have flown commercial that day then caught a bush flight to their dream destination. None of that qualifies as aerial scouting. Just saying. But being truck driver for the last 35 years I'm well aware of cops making a mountain out of a mole hill or...

How in the world would a game warden know if you'd been in [any] aircraft the same day as your hunt?

I'm 10 years younger than you but due to a life time of real labor and devastating auto accident with the associated ortho damage from both my hiking days are over. I understand you completely. My long gone grand father took steps to be able to hunt from his back porch. After a series of strokes...

    Barrel reboring?

I've read several indirect mentions of reboring a barrel from 50 to 54 cal. Does anyone know the cost? Also these mentions are always in relation to long guns. Is it feasible in a pistol? I want a 54 cal flintlock pistol I'd like a kit. The traditions 50 better fits my budget but would want it...
